HDI is looking for a Strategic Relationship Manager to focus on accelerating HDI’s growth across the Nordic region. The role is placed at the Global SE branch located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will report to the Head of Distribution, Marketing & Business Development.

The position is part of the Distribution, Marketing & Business Development Team, consisting of Head of Distribution, Marketing & Business Development, a Marketing Coordinator, and a Marketing Student. The role of the team is to contribute, support and create opportunities for growth. The Strategic Relationship Manager will be working closely with Underwriting in particular – as well as Claims, Compliance and Administration.
With reference to the Head of Distribution, Marketing & Business Development, the Strategic Relationship Manager will become a key contributor to the team and provide strategic support for both short- and long-term business objectives. The Strategic Relationship Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strategic partnerships and driving initiatives that enhance HDI’s competitive edge.
The Strategic Relationship Manager will collaborate with underwriting teams to support and enable a robust sales pipeline, collect market insights, improve HDI’s CRM system discipline, and contribute to impactful events across Nordic countries to ensure market visibility, foster relationships and generate leads.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Developing the broker strategy and building and maintaining strategic partnerships with brokers, clients, and other external stakeholders
- Create and maintain a meeting program with key partners through formal and informal meetings and presentations
- Understanding of the proposition and underwriting appetite of each product line
- Follow up on broker performance and HDI broker survey results as well as other KPI:s
- Proactively participate in projects or other initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness or efficiency of the organization and actively participate in the global development of Distribution and Sales capabilities
- Identifying opportunities for new business lines and cooperation models
- Developing new products and selling points aligned with market needs
- Executing distribution and business development strategies, including pipeline management improvement in the organization and yearly planning
- Staying ahead of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to improve strategic decisions
- Supporting marketing activities and event organization to position HDI as a trusted partner in the Nordic market
- Identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities and cross sales opportunities
- Collaborating with underwriting teams to enable and support a strong sales pipeline and secure alignment with UW strategies
- Together with IT and Business controlling, driving CRM system development and empathizing disciplined usage for better insights
A significant part of the work takes place externally through meetings with partners and brokers all over Denmark as well as in the other Nordic countries. The Strategic Relationship Manager will be representing HDI professionally at business meetings and relevant industry events.
HDI is looking for a Strategic Relationship Manager who is highly motivated by the opportunity to contribute significantly to HDI’s further development in the Nordic region – building on a solid strategic and commercial mindset combined with experience handling sales and relations within the insurance industry.
The ideal candidate:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance, distribution, business development, or similar insurance market roles
- Preferably a master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent diplomas
- Strong understanding of the Nordic industrial insurance market and broker landscape
- The ability to build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with brokers, clients, and key internal stakeholders
- Can identify and structure new growth opportunities and translate them into concrete business and distribution initiatives
- Proven ability to deliver profitable growth through sales execution, cross-selling, and closing complex deals
- Understands underwriting and works closely with UW teams to develop relevant business initiatives, products and solutions based on market needs
- Operates in a disciplined, data-driven way, with proven ability to use CRM and pipeline management to drive commercial decisions
- Fluent in Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian combined with English – both written and verbally
