HDI Global SE Denmark is looking for an Underwriter within Management Liability to join their team in Copenhagen.

You will become part of a dedicated and competent team that works with a wide range of tasks within Directors & Officers Liability and Commercial Crime Insurance. Reporting directly to the Manager, Management Liability, the Underwriter will play a key role in developing and maintaining profitable business while supporting HDI’s long-term underwriting strategy.

The Management Liability Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting, developing, and maintaining a portfolio of risks in accordance with HDI’s underwriting guidelines and strategic objectives. This includes collaborating closely with brokers, clients, colleagues, and international stakeholders while contributing to the continued development of HDI’s Management Liability portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

Portfolio Management:

  • Manage and retain an existing portfolio through disciplined underwriting and renewal processes
  • Review and assess risks using pricing tools, underwriting expertise, and market insight
  • Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients
  • Participate in renewal, strategy, and client meetings

Business Development:

  • Underwrite new business opportunities within the Management Liability segment
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and key market stakeholders
  • Contribute to market-facing activities and business development initiatives
  • Support the long-term development of a profitable portfolio

Service & Collaboration:

  • Deliver high-quality service to brokers and clients
  • Contribute to a collaborative and professional team environment
  • Support reporting, analyses, and data requests from local management and Home Office
  • Represent HDI professionally in all interactions with the market

The position involves approximately 5-10 travel days annually.

 

HDI is seeking a professional who combines strong analytical capabilities with a commercial mindset and a collaborative approach to building long-term relationships.

The ideal candidate possesses:

  • A degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Insurance, or a related field
  • At least three years of UW experience within Financial Lines
  • Familiarity with financial statements, corporate governance, company law, and commercial risks
  • Fluency in both Danish and English
  • A structured and accountable approach to managing responsibilities and deadlines
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • An interest in analysing corporate structures, governance matters, and financial information
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
  • Knowledge of AI-based solutions and a general interest in new technologies
